Assistant Professor (Non-tenure track full-time position)

2. Qualifications
<Minimum Qualification (one of the conditions must be met)>
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) as of September 1, 2026.
- Applicants who have earned a master’s degree must have at least two years of research or industry experience in a field relevant to the position.
- Applicants who have earned a bachelor’s degree must have at least four years of research or industry experience in a field relevant to the position.
- Applicants who are ABD (All But Dissertation) in a doctoral program may also be considered.
<Preferred Qualifications>
- Preference will be given to candidates who have fully completed their Ph.D. in the relevant field. Candidates with an outstanding record of research publications in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, and SCOPUS-indexed journals will be highly preferred.
- A proven record of successful teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level is highly preferred. Teaching experience gained through English language academies, service as an EPIK assistant teacher, private tutoring, or unpaid tutoring will not be considered applicable.
- Applicants must be able to commence employment on September 1, 2026, with a valid visa status. Failure to meet this requirement will result in rescission of the appointment. Candidates currently residing in South Korea are preferred.
- Applicants must be capable of delivering lectures in English.
- Candidates must demonstrate the potential for a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, productive research, and active professional and community service. In addition to teaching and research responsibilities, successful candidates will be expected to provide academic and career counseling, serve on departmental, college, and university committees, and participate in institutional assessment activities.

5. Employment Conditions and Benefits

The annual gross salary is expected to start from approximately KRW 40,000,000 (inclusive of housing allowance), subject to the University’s compensation regulations in effect at the time of appointment.
- Severance pay will be provided in accordance with the pension regulations applicable to private university employees.
6. Further Remarks
- Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for appointment under the regulations governing private universities and satisfy all employment requirements stipulated by the Korean government.
- The position may remain unfilled if no suitable candidates are identified.
- If an applicant is found to be unqualified due to omission or fraudulent information at any stage of the process, the application will be immediately disqualified.
- All application documents written in languages other than Korean or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Korean or English.
- The appointment process may be terminated if the applicant’s visa status is deemed unstable or unsuitable for the position by August 31, 2026. (As at least three weeks are required to process a change in E-1 visa status, applicants are strongly advised to make a reservation via “hikorea.go.kr” no later than July 31, 2026.)
