The GRTF (Global Research-Focused Tenure-track Faculty) is a specialized recruitment track for foreign nationals demonstrating exceptional research capabilities. Faculty hired under this track will undergo performance evaluations every three years, with tenure granted upon meeting the established criteria.

1. Eligibility Requirements

General Requirements:

Applicants must have no disqualifying factors for private school faculty appointment and must meet the full-time faculty qualifications under the Higher Education Act and Kookmin University regulations.

Applicants must have the equivalent of 5 or more years of experience based on the university’s conversion standards (Ph.D. holders automatically satisfy this requirement).

Degree & Academic Requirements:

Must hold a Ph.D. degree by the application start date, or expect to receive a Ph.D. before the scheduled appointment date.

For expected Ph.D. candidates: A Certificate of Expected Ph.D. must be attached during document submission. The appointment will be canceled if the degree is not obtained before the appointment date.

4. Appointment Conditions

Expected Appointment Date: September 1, 2026 (Applicants must be available to commence duties from this date).

Initial Appointment Period: Follows university regulations.

The university reserves the right not to hire if no suitable candidates are found or if applicants do not meet the qualifications.

Step 1: Create a new application and log in.
Step 2: Enter basic information and upload a recent color ID photo (taken within the last 3 months; B&W photos are invalid).
Step 3: Enter education, qualifications, and career history, then upload supporting documents.
Step 4: Enter research output and upload supporting documents.
Step 5: Write the Cover Letter (in English or Korean).
Step 6: Click [Submit] to finalize your application.

After submission, log in to verify that all entries and attachments are correctly registered.

Individual phone inquiries regarding receipt of applications are not accepted.

Remember your password—it is required to check results at each stage.

6. Important Notes on Documentation

All supporting documents must be uploaded online via the “Attach Proof” menu at the bottom of the system.

A. Personal Information

Two email addresses are required to prevent delivery failure.

Privacy agreement for Kookmin University Foundation is mandatory.

B. Educational Background

Only degrees verifiable by official certificates are accepted.

Required: Graduation Certificate & Official Transcript for each degree.

International applicants must provide a copy of the diploma or official certificate of degree.

Required Fields: University, Major, Location, Dates (Admission/Graduation), Degree Type, Advisor (optional for Bachelor’s), and Thesis Title (enter “N/A” if none).

File naming example: (Chronological Order) Ex: 1-1. Bachelor_Diploma.pdf / 1-2. Bachelor_Transcript.pdf / 2-1. Master_Diploma.pdf

C. Professional Experience

Must be verifiable research/educational experience after the Bachelor’s degree.

Supporting Documents: Certificate of Career / Experience

Dates must match certificates exactly (YYYY-MM-DD).

If currently employed, use April 24, 2026, as the end date.

File naming example: (Chronological Order) Ex: 1. OO_Research_Institute.pdf

When entering multiple records, please designate only one (1) as your “Representative Career.”

D. Research Publications

Eligible period: SCIE-level papers published between April 25, 2023 – April 24, 2026.

Only Sole, First, or Corresponding authors accepted.

E. Cover Letter(Personal Statement)

Can be written in English or Korean.

7. Important Notices

All screening updates will be sent via email.

Experience certificates must be issued within 3 months of the application date and include exact start/end dates.

Documents in languages other than English or Korean must include a notarized Korean translation.

Applications cannot be modified after the deadline.

Any discrepancy, missing files, or falsified information will result in immediate cancellation of the appointment.

Foreign Nationals: Must obtain an appropriate visa before the appointment date.

Currently Employed Candidates: Must complete resignation procedures before the appointment date.
